Fire Fighters Charity

Out of the 180,000 charities in the United Kingdom, the Fire Fighters Charity is listed in the top 100 and offers a number of professional services to fire service personnel and their families during their times of need.

The Charity offers support services across the UK for the whole fire community, assisting in excess of 17,000 individuals every year. This community includes fire fighters, non-uniform and support staff, retired personnel, as well as dependants.

 

 

Available Services

The Fire Fighters charity offers a wide range of services which include: 

Therapy

  • Residential therapy programmes, run by teams of dedicated professionals
  • Physical treatment for a wide range of conditions and injuries
  • Child and family therapy programmes for families with children that have long-term disabilities and conditions

Recuperation

  • Recover from illness, injury or surgery in stunning countryside or coastal locations
  • Peaceful environments aid emotional and physical recovery for individuals or families

Beneficiary Support Services

  • Confidential and impartial helpline service, offering advice, guidance and support on a wide range of issues
  • Nationwide network of trained volunteers and professionals, ready to help you locally and provide solutions to real life problems

 

Eligibility

Following five years service within Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service all individuals will have a lifetime access to the services of the charity.

The charity operates three centres set in idyllic locations around the country, namely Cumbria, Devon, and West Sussex. These can also be rented by employees for a relaxing break at any time of the year. The charity offers valuable support for all employees of the Fire and Rescue Services across the United Kingdom.

 

Charity Fundraising Events

It costs over £9 million every year to keep the Charity running, and with no government funding, it is completely reliant upon donations and fundraising. The Charity has organised the Fire Fighters Lottery and welcomes ideas for fundraising events.
