Volunteers
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service is not currently looking for any volunteers
Being a volunteer with our prevention team is a rewarding opportunity to support Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service in its work to ensure Derbyshire is a safe place to live, work and travel.
It is an exciting opportunity for anyone. We are looking for men and women from all walks of life, who can join our Volunteer Programme bringing personal skills to the role helping us to reach out to communities.
Volunteer activities include carrying out home safety assessments, acting out role plays at road safety events and youth work delivering our fire message to Duke of Edinburgh and Guides.
Volunteering gives people the opportunity to use existing skills and experiences, as well as gaining new ones and meeting people in the community.
Volunteers will be working out of local fire stations, with our community prevention teams. The role of a volunteer will not be responding to operational incidents as a firefighter.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service volunteering programme activities include:
Prevention team Volunteer – generating and undertaking Home Fire Safety Checks and fitting free smoke Detectors
Road Safety – help reduce serious injury and road deaths
Youth Support – volunteers are invaluable in supporting the prevention team and providing a positive role model in the delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh, Scouts and Guides educational programmes
