The future planning process for the Service will be subject to scrutiny as
part of Comprehensive Performance Assessment. An essential part of the
assessment will be the validation of all Service plans.
Strategic Planning Process
The planning process divides into four separate areas:
| Plan Type |
Who is Responsible |
| Corporate |
Fire Authority |
| Business |
Area's/Corporate Support |
| Station/Section |
Station Managers, Dept Heads |
| Personel |
All Fire Authority Employees |
Through this integrated planning structure, the
Authority’s key strategic issues are developed to meet service delivery needs.
These are measured using Local and National Performance Indicators. These
targets are attributable to named managers and may be devolved to individuals,
through their Personal Development Plans. The aim of this process is to bring
together the Authority’s defined duties and financial planning processes to
achieve its purpose of providing an effective, efficient and economical Fire
& Rescue Service.

Comprehensive Performance Plan
|
The Comprehensive Performance Plan is a collective document, which includes the Corporate Plan, Integrated Risk Management Plan and Best Value Performance Plan.
The combination of these plans allows the Fire Authority to demonstrate the commitment of both employers and employees to providing a service we are proud of and that’s good value for money.

Improvement Plan
|
This Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) Improvement Plan provides a framework over the next 3 years to create a better service. The findings from CPA and other identifiers will create an integrated improvement plan.
The Plan focuses on delivering our priorities and distinguishes the tasks required to deliver improvements, which will make a positive contribution to our overall service delivery.
Whilst it is important to focus on areas for improvement, we should also celebrate our successes that make a significant contribution to our vision:
"To make Derbyshire a safer place to live work and visit"
