Bakewell fire station

 

Bakewell fire station was built in the 1960’s and located on the outskirts of the town centre on Buxton Road, has been serving the local communities of Bakewell and the surrounding villages for nearly 50 years.

 

The Station houses one fire appliance and a Land Rover.  The appliance and is capable of dealing with a wide variety of incidents, it carries specialist chemical equipment, specialist foam equipment, oxygen and all of the normal equipment used for dealing with fires and road traffic accidents. 

 

The small town of Bakewell is situated in the heart of the Peak District and is surrounded by villages and open countryside, consequently the risk for the area is predominantly ‘C’ class but is surrounded by a large area of rural risk.  Within the Station area there are a number of higher risks such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Newholme Hospital.
