Ashbourne fire station, situated on Park Road, was built in 1957 and houses two front line fire appliances.

The compliment of personnel is 20, employed on a Retained basis to serve the community.

‘Retained’ means that the personnel live or work near to the Fire Station and are able to respond quickly to an emergency call.  Of course to be able to do this many of the personnel rely on the goodwill of their primary employers without whose support and understanding the Fire Station would not be able to function as efficiently.
