Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service

Ilkeston Community Station was re-built and officially opened on the 21st April 2009.

It houses:

  • two emergency fire appliances
  • one specialist water/foam carrier

The new community fire station includes facilities for the local community to use, in line with other new stations being built. It also includes a smoke house, underground search and rescue facilities, a training culvert and training tower.

In common with the newly opened Nottingham Road Community Fire Station, Ilkeston features renewable energy features such as solar hot water, photovoltaic panels and sensor lighting to reduce the building’s overall energy consumption.
