Station Information

There has been a Fire Station in Long Eaton since 1883.  The present one, now known as Long Eaton Community Fire Station, opened in 1978 and has two Water Ladder Pumping Appliances that are comprehensively equipped to deal with the wide variety of incidents.  It is classed as a Wholetime Fire Station with a retained section, and is manned 24 hours a day.

Current personnel on Station consist of 28 full-time or ‘Wholetime’ Firefighters who are split into 4 watches (Blue, Green, Red, White) and 13 part-time or ‘Retained’ Firefighters.  There are also 2 Station Managers who are responsible for operational and legislative fire safety and enforcement matters around the Station area, and a part time Station Administrative Assistant.

The Station also plays host to the Assistant Director of Fundraising for The Firefighters Charity.
