New Staveley Station

DERBYSHIRE Fire and Rescue Service opened its new community fire station at Staveley on Thursday 12 January 2006.

Built to replace the old out-dated fire station, the new premises will help to provide further protection for Derbyshire people living in the surrounding areas.  In addition to improved fire training facilities, there is a designated training area for road traffic collisions and associated rescue work and a facility to allow for the training of new and experienced fire appliance drivers.

Three new appliances have been ordered and these will replace three of the current ageing appliances.  The cab section has a totally new design and is able to carry eight crew members in comfort rather than the current six.

The station is staffed by both Wholetime and Retained personnel.
